Christmas Parcels

Each year Derby Lions help to organise Christmas parcels for needy folk in the City. They distribute boxes to schools so that pupils can donate tins and packets of food. These are collected in and 12 items put into bags with a Christmas Card by Lions. Various organisations such as AgeUK, Social Services, Young Carers, The Guiness Trust come along and collect parcels to pass on to needy folk with whom they are in contact. Last year over 400 parcels were distributed.

Here we see the project being launch with the Mayor of Derby and the Deputy Editor of the Derby Telegraph who support and publicise this activity.
