Santa arrives at Findern Garden Centre

Santa arrived at the Garden Centre in Findern aboard a vintage fire engine on Saturday 19th November at 1pm. His arrival was welcomed by the children and adults gathered at the Garden Centre. Santa will be in residence at the Garden Centre each weekend and for several weekdays in the week before Christmas. He will welcome children into his Grotto for a chat and to receive a present. Adults can try their luck or just put their money straight into our collection buckets for Children with Leukemia.

On 25th October our Christmas parcel Appeal was launched at the Derby Telegraph office with the help of the Mayor of Derby. Local schools will be collecting food during the next few weeks which will then be packed by the Lions and distributed to needy folk in the city in time for Christmas.

Derby Lions Club attended the opening of the Derby Carers Centre in Babington Lane in July 2011 in recognition of the fact that we had given them a computer system to be used by carers.
